Meet our Nurse Recruiter: Solange Sanchez

New York Nurse Recruiter Solange Sanchez

Solange Sanchez, a member of ProMed Staffing Resources Nurse Recruiting Team, is one of the firm’s most successful nurse recruiters. Her success mantra: “Connect with the talent you seek!” Solange strongly believes that it is important for a recruiter to build and nurture the talent community by going above and beyond the call of duty. It is no wonder then that her nurses are coming back to her again and again without looking any further.

In this blog, Solange talks about the importance of building relationships with candidates, her original career path, her favorite shows, and more.

  1.  Can you talk about your experience as a recruiter?

I’ve been working with ProMed Staffing Resources for about eight months now. The best part about this job is that I get to connect with pretty awesome nurses! Working for a staffing firm means connecting with individuals from different backgrounds, and I will say, I have had my few memorable hires/ interviews. Another thing that excites me is the challenge of finding the right job for the right candidate. It gives me a reason to get out of bed every morning.

2. What is your mantra for work?

I believe that keeping a daily balance is the key to being successful. I balance my day by documenting in advance things I need to manage, individuals I need to connect. I make sure to set aside some time to connect with my candidates who are on their assignments.

3. Tell us about your most interesting hires.

I once interviewed this candidate for a position he had applied for, and while speaking to him, he opened to me about his life story. As a recruiter, I couldn’t wait to present him to the client. Personally, I was extremely motivated and moved by his story.

4. The best thing about working at ProMed Staffing Resources?

The best thing about working for Promed Staffing Resources is how understanding management is. They make things exciting by running a healthy recruitment competition and employee of the month shout-out.

5. Tell us three things about you that people might not guess about you?

One of the things many may not know about me would be my original career path. I always wanted to be a detective and even pursued law enforcement. I went through the entire NYPD process until I decided to postpone my candidacy.

I absolutely love food! Especially Chinese and Mexican food. And I enjoy binge-watching shows similar to- How to Get Away with Murder, Riverdale, Stranger Things, and Money Heist (those listed are just some of my favs).

 Rapid-fire questions:

  1. If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

If I were given a chance to get away for a while, I would most definitely choose Bora Bora; it’s such a beautiful and relaxing island.

2. What is your all-time favorite show?

 Penny Dreadful !!!

3. At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?

If I were given a store of my choosing to max out a company’s credit card, I would say Macy’s.

4. Choose a movie title for the story of your life.

I really can’t think of one.
